Family-type Accommodation Centre, Yambol

This is one the pilot projects that mark the beginning of the so called Family-type accommodation centers. The idea is based on the project “Childhood for All” and follows the national strategy for deinstitutionalization of children in Bulgaria. At the opening of the site arch. Dikanski said: “We have a real chance in Bulgaria to implement a successful model to take the children out of institutions and to achieve a level of contemporary care and security that is available in well-developed European countries.”

The building can accommodate 14 children, 12 of them from specialized institutions, and there are 2 places provided for accommodating children/young people from the community as emergency cases. The layout of the rooms provides a homey atmosphere and family-like living conditions.
